Business has continued to grow and issued business licenses serve as the major example. Dubai Economy has issued more than 170,000 commercial licenses over the last 25 years, a 650 per cent growth over the 28,000 licenses issued in its first year in 1992, revealed Sami Al Qamzi, Director-General of Dubai Economy.
"The Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector in Dubai Economy serves more than 150,000 businesses in the emirate, conducting approximately 430,000 transactions every year relating to issuing, renewing or revoking licenses as well as amending trade names and issuing commercial permits," Al Qamzi said as Dubai Economy celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2017.
Over 2,100 business activities have been streamlined by Dubai Economy during the last 25 years in line with the emirate’s economic diversification policy and in response to the requirements of businessmen and the market.
In addition, the Dubai Business Club in Dubai Economy is the first to be awarded a 6-star rating in the UAE for providing an exceptional customer experience and achieving a qualitative leap in terms of service innovation. The Club brings together the services of more than six government entities under a single roof to provide fast and efficient services matching international standards.
Omar Bushahab, CEO of BLR sector, stated that the UAE is the first country in the world to adopt the star rating system, and the Dubai Business Club was launched in line with the government’s vision of reinforcing Dubai as a destination for investment and business development, in addition to improving service quality and meeting customer expectations line with the UAE Vision 2021.
